Idea for film has changed
My Idea for the film has completely changed, and another person has joined our group, so our film will now be completely different. Instead of a slasher horror, it will be a drama/ thriller.
here are some videos that would have been used for the previous film
The film will no longer be called Withdrawl, it will now be called Horses Head.

The invisible opening scene
This is the opening scene to the film " The Invisible" which starts with a panning shot over the ocean then into a forest with a city in the horizon which then dissolves into a birds eye view pan over the forest, then another fade into some sort of party in a rich modern building. Then in the same shot you hear a speech for a boys birthday, and follow the boy as he gets a piece of cake, go downstairs to eat it, sit down, then into a close up shot of the boy getting a shotgun and aiming it to his face, then it is discovered it was a nightmare. The camera is constantly moving throughout the introduction an it consists of only four shots in total, and the music gives the impression hat the scene is meant to be sad in the shot where the main character walking around his party. The introduction is clearly meant to based on the character.

Match on action
Match on action is an essential cutting technique which makes sure that each shot corresponds to the next shot. For example if there is a shot of someone opening a door, from one side, there would be a shot of the person walking through from the other side with the same posture, and in time with him opening the door from the previous shot, so that it looks like one fluent movement.
180 degree rule
The 180 degree rule is vital while filming conversations between characters . The camera is not allowed to rotate around the characters past 180 degrees , or else the audience will get disorientated because both characters will appear to be facing the same direction.
Every successful film uses this basic rule.

Preliminary Task
Here is my preliminary task, its simply based on someone going to work and being late who has a rebellious attitude. This is a good example of the 180 degree rule and match on action. There is use of slow motion at the end so that there is more enfaces on emotion.

Conventions of Genres
Horror
In horror there are very distinctive sounds used in the back ground, like sudden low frequency trumpet sounds, crows, rain outside, and if there's allot of tension in the atmosphere, there may even be complete silence before a sudden, loud sound.
the film is often also set in an empty environment, like in the middle woods or the desert, or even in a small town away from the rest of civilization, so that the characters in the film cannot call police. There is also often a reason for them to not be able to leave the area, like there vehicles wont work, or they got in a car crash. The victims also get murdered when they are on their own, in a dark environment. The characters themselves tend to be young, students that go to the empty environment on holiday with each other to basically take drugs, get drunk or to have sex.The being that's actually killing the victims is completely mysterious, an only near the end do you find out why its killing people. The killer also is always has its face hidden, and is mainly seen in darkness, your you cant see what it is, unless its a slasher horror, where the killer is in a specific outfit with a mask and a signature weapon.
Thriller
The thriller genre normally involves a main hero going through numerous deadly situations. The heroes of these films tend to be either men/women from a normal city or suburb with a normal life with no experience of action packed adventures, or professionals who are accustomed to danger, like policemen or criminals. In a typical thriller film, the hero attempts to defeat a main villain and to stop an evil plan or to solve a big mystery.
